Derek R. Orozco graduated from Kennedy Catholic in 1987. Not only was Derek a talented athlete, but he excelled in academics. He was a gentle soul, humble and kind. After Derek unexpectedly passed away in the winter of 2016, his devoted friends and family established The Derek R. Orozco Foundation, a charitable organization, with the mission of supporting athletics, academics, and music: three things that Derek loved.
In addition, Derek loved his alma mater Kennedy Catholic.

The DRO Foundation, in partnership with Kennedy Catholic, invite friends, family and community members to come together to honor Derek with this annual memorial golf tournament. Proceeds from the tournament support the Derek R. Orozco Scholarship Fund at Kennedy Catholic High School.
